| News update 2 April 2008 |
|
| After our two very successful 1st Degree ceremonies our RWM is looking forward to his last two meetings before the summer recess and two equally good 2nd Degree ceremonies. Our last meeting saw 28 brethren attending and many stayed to a very enjoyable harmony afterwards. Our RWM requests that all the brethren who can, join in with us on these last two meetings before the summer recess and experience the harmony that the lodge is having. |
|
| Brethren, this is our second candidate of our RWM’s year and one I think many of you know, as he is a local man. The RWM has been working hard with his ritual so as to make this a memorable night for our candidate as well as for the Lodge. Please come and support him and our candidate and help make this an even more memorable evening. Over the last few meetings it has been gratifying to see some old faces coming back to the Lodge and joining in with us again and I hope you all have enjoyed yourselves and continue to come and support our RWM and the Lodge. |
|
| Our last 3 meetings of this session will all be candidates: first one a 1st followed by two 2nd degrees so please come and support the Lodge, our RWM and his team. | |
| The RWM wishes to say to everyone to have a really Happy New Year. The meeting on 4 January will be the first time for the new team to have a go at the 1st degree in preparation for a candidate, possibly for our February meeting. Our meeting on the 18th January will be our annual Burns Night, so put this one in your diaries now. | |
| After two superb meetings within the lodge, our new RWM Bro. George Bruce now welcomes all brethren, present and past to join him in his first year as Master. Although this meeting will be a short business meeting, come and join us for the festive harmony afterwards. If you are unable to make the meeting, the RWM wishes you a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year. | |
| A Ladies' Evening Dinner and Dance will be held at the Skeabost Country House Hotel, Skeabost Bridge, Isle of Skye on 27 October 2007. Further details on the 'Other Events' page here. | |
| There will be a Special Meeting on Sunday 29 April 2007 which will be the Lodge's Divine Service; P.M. Rev. Aubrey Bell will be officiating. | |
| It is hoped that we will have a talk on the work of the RNLI at our last meeting of the session, on 20 April. | |
| The provisional date for the next meeting of the General Committee is 27 April 2007. | |

| This has been the quietest year at Lodge
St. Kilda for sometime. We have had no candidates and very few visitors.
Some may say that this is the way Freemasonry is heading but it doesnt
need to be that way at Lodge St. Kilda. The time has come for us all to
become more active. When was the last time you visited a Lodge? When did
we last attend a communication of Provincial Lodge or Grand Lodge? When
was the last time we as a Lodge performed a Degree at a Sister Lodge? Grand
Lodge see the trends better than any of us regarding Freemasonry. They will
come up with ideas to take Freemasonry forward but we dont need to
wait for guidance. So I say to you brethren give your Lodge something this year. Support it in anyway you can. Lodge St. Kilda has given everyone of us something special, something to be treasured and honoured. In 6 years time (2012) our Lodge building will be 100 years old. We will remember the men who built it with their bare hands. We need to honour their work now and help make sure Lodge St. Kilda remains a place for Good men to become Better men. |
